Storm Prep

We are anticipating Earl as it makes it way up the coast.  It is hard to tell exactly what to expect and with just a slight turn this storm can be a major event.  So it is best to prepare for the worst.  With that in mind we have prepared the below information to remind you of what you should be doing to prepare for this storm.  It appears that you have Wednesday and Thursday to take care of securing your boat.  Friday we should be seeing the impact.  I will be putting out a call for help (volunteers) to help secure the yard and the house, that will come in a separate email.  There are links listed at the end of this email with great information too.  A very important item is to please be sure that we have your current contact information.  God forbid that something happens and we are trying to reach you and cannot.  Joann Bauer keeps our Roster current and we will have her reprint it on Friday to give to the launch drivers so please contact her before Friday.  732 826-2277.   (If you would like her to email you a copy of the roster let her know and she can do this also)  Good Luck to everyone and I am sure that we will all be fine but I want to be prepared and be able to sit back and relax while Earl passes through our area.  Oh, Bob Kennedy is seeing about getting a Hurricane Party worked out for Friday night at the club.  At the very least you can make your own party by coming down on Friday, bring your comfy clothes and rain gear.   This is the first weekend of the month so the Galley will have the Free Cappuccinos going Saturday and Sunday.  Now on to the important stuff……..

Our club commodore sent out some excellent tips on storm prep with the imminent arrival of Earl in the Northeast.

There is some concern that we may see 21 foot storm surges in the Bay. Full post here
