Back in Blighty

I am back in the UK for a long weekend to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday. Usually I can't sleep on the overnight flight East but this time I went out like a light over Newfoundland. I woke up as we were coming over the South Coast of England. I have to tell you, it brought a lump to my throat. The first thing I saw that morning was the Isle of Wight and the Solent from 15,000 feet. It was a fairly clear morning and I could clearly see the boats, moored in the river at Cowes, I could make out Beaulieu in the distance up the Beaulieu River. We flew directly over Pompey, where I could see the new tower. Made me quite sentimental about sailing on the Solent.
