As regular readers (who am I kidding?) know I have been conflicted about who to show my support for in these Olympics. Should I cheer with my heart for the country of my birth, GB, or should my loyalty be with the country that has embraced me as a citizen.
I want to thank
for making my life easier and winning the Laser and Radial Laser respectively. And they delivered this neat bit of personal symmetry on the second anniversary
of this blog. I am sure they planned it this way.
There are also a couple of interesting personal twists. First of all Anna was born in England but grew up over here. Secondly she narrowly beat the Lithuanian sailor. This is personally ironic as that was where my Dad was from. Hhhm!
Anna and Paul I will honor your victory with a special Britanno-American breakfast of Marmite and Peanut Butter on toast. Yum!
So many great memories of sailing in Newport, Narrangansett Bay and paties at Harbor Court. Miss it bigly 🙁
