Moonholes – Bequia, St Vincent and the Grenadines

Bequia in Grenadines is one of the best places on the planet for sailors. A small island with friendly people and a great place to chill.

On the way in and out of Bequia you pass a point of land with one of the strangest things I have ever seen sailing – the Moonholes. These structures are built into the rock. They look like a James Bondian bad guy lair or the perfect place to house a secret cult.

More on the Moonholes here.

  1. Bequia is one of my favorite islands. Moonhole is a bit off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit and a tour if you are on Bequia. You can even stay in some of those houses built in the rock.

  2. For those of you who like photography, the best time to take pictures of Moon Hole from the sea is late afternoon. Unfortunatly, we were sailing in this area early morning, so the light was very challenging. Thanks for posting my Moon Hole picture here and to give me credit for it.

  3. The grenadines in my opinion offers some of the best sailing grounds in the world. There are many fabulous sites throughout the islands, Moonhole is one of many.
