Raritan to Great Kills and Back

As a wrap-up to the season, the racing and cruising fleets from Raritan Yacht Club raced from Perth Amboy to Great Kills, Staten Island. We all overnighted in Great Kills Harbor, Staten Island courtesy of Richmond County Yacht Club. There were about 10 boats racing both days in non-spinnaker and cruising fleets. This weekend I was racing with Howard, Jeff and Tim with our skipper Ray on Ray's 41' C&C, Stinky Dog. Lovely boat and bloody fast. Most of the boats rafted up at Great Kills. We chilled on the mooring alone. Nice dinner, bed by 11 with an 8 hour snoring symphony. Not sure where we placed over the weekend. Not first for sure. on Saturday we were a bit confused about the course so had to back-track a bit and on Sunday we had a less than optimal start. Despite starting dead last, we overtook all but two boats and crossed the line at RYC, third. More pics here
