Less than three weeks till haul-in day and I am basically ready. Good job as I only have one workable weekend day left what with one thing or another. I am quietly quite pleased with all this as I do not consider myself a handyman. In fact I am a bit of a klutz. I have managed to do these jobs without bodging or buggering up any with one exception. I managed to sever the aerial cable (now spliced).
Jobs done:
- Bottom painted with two coats
- Hull cleaned and polished
- Deck cleaned
- Outboard serviced and tested
- Teak sanded
- Mast inspected
- Installed halyard clutch
- Bought new life sling and dock lines
- Installed new VHF
- Installed charger outlet
- Bought removable solar panel
- Bought portable GPS
- Bought binoculars
- Bought tool box
- Bought lots of spares
Still working on:
- Clean and oil winches
- Purge water system
- Oil Teak
- Install new halyards
- Check safety equipment
- Buy spare engine parts
May not get to:
- Empty gas tank
- Replace switch panel so that I can get anchor light working
Stuff to do next year:
- Take the hull down to the fiberglass
So many great memories of sailing in Newport, Narrangansett Bay and paties at Harbor Court. Miss it bigly 🙁
