Fourth Blogoversary – The joy of messing about in sailboats

There are lots of blogs and web sites for hard core sailors dedicated the laser racing, the Americas Cup, Transatlantic sailing, Round the World and all that serious stuff. This blog is for the rest of us. It's about the joy of messing about in sailboats.

Can't believe I missed it but this blog celebrated it's fourth anniversary last week. The link is to my first post.

I think I am staying true to the original spirit. Frankly I am less enamored with Lats and Atts then I was when I started this thing.

  1. Congrats! Always enjoy looking at the sailing pics you find on the web, and the “messing about” ethos is a good one to stick to – if nothing else very flexible!
BTW, that photo of you doing the round the island – what boat were you on?

  2. Thanks JP. It actually wasn’t the RTIW Race but we charted a Sunfast37 from Sunsail at Port Solent.
I did the race in 2000 on a Clipper 38. Can’t recall the name. Apparently we finished 78th

  3. Great variety of boats that you feature. It’s always one of the first posts of the morning for me. Keep it up, please!

  4. That sounds like a co-incidence – if the Clipper 38 is the Reflex 38 (which I think it is) then that’s what I did the Fastnet in.
And sailed Sunsail Sunfast37s a few times too.

  5. Congrats on 4 years! Many of the pictures I have seen are just amazing. I can see how much work you have put into this! Keep up the great work.

  6. Well done on the 4 years. you have a great page with a lot of interesting info on. There are too many serious sailing blogs but I like your ‘messing about in sail boats’ take on things, it is much better.
