It was 40 years ago today….
Ever since I worked out last year that this would be the 40th anniversary of what, in my humble opinion the greatest feat in sailing, I felt this was a day worth celebrating. Clearly many many others do.
For all you have done and are still doing for this great sport, we thank you!

Funnily enough last night was talking to a chap in a bar in SW London (as you do) and he had done the Clipper round the world race, so I asked if he’d met RKJ.
When he said yes, many times, of course asked for more details, but alas before I could get his answer we were both interupted by others asking each of us questions and so never got to find out 🙁
