Passage To Greenport- Arrival

We rounded Montauk Point at 0515, 15 minutes ahead of plan. My navigation efforts weren’t bad all things being equal.

As we made the turn North, the sun peaked over the horizon. I truly can’t remember a more amazing dawn, just us, a few fishermen and some seagulls. Seas were flat but the breeze was a steady 12kts.

The sail to Greenport was a series of tacks across the Western end of Block Island Sound and then into Gardner’s Bay, around Shelter Island (like Times Square on a Sunday-speedboats everywhere with no consideration for anyone).

We are moored at Brewer’s Sterling Marina. Tomorrow we head home on the Jitney. Next Friday we will come back for Part Deux of our cruise.

  1. Congrats, Captain.
Doesn’t that place look a whole lot sweeter than if you’d driven up for the day?
I’ll bet the food tastes better, too.

  2. Howdy bra blogg! Tack!
